    Commitment: This role is a part time role for 24 hours a week available to start as soon as possible. Food Works values a healthy work life balance with a generous 32 days of leave pro rata. Our Food Hub opens 7 days a week and this role will include regular weekend working. We aim to agree working schedules with consideration for everyone’s personal lives and actively work to support flexible working hours 

    Salary: £20,610.72 pro rata. Food Works is a Real Living Wage employer and remuneration is reviewed annually.

    • Experience in logistics, warehousing and food production are welcomed, but not essential

    The purpose of this job

    Food Works operates 3 hubs in Sheffield and we are looking for a motivated and experienced organiser to help us run our hubs. You will be responsible for all our food operations on site, primarily in our key distribution hub in Handsworth. This will involve working with suppliers to source and collect surplus food, delivering a welcoming market service to customers and organising effective stock management on site to ensure we make the best use of our food.

    Key responsibilities

    Core job

    • Managing a team of diverse volunteers, to encourage a positive working environment and promote development.

    • Ensuring the safe operation of equipment and premises.

    • Effectively overseeing customer service and payments across a range of different products and services in our market.

    • Contribute to the design and implementation of processes and procedures in our hubs

    • Work with our community engagement officer to design and deliver training for our volunteers.

    • Overseeing all critical procedures, including temperature and transport logs.

    • Ensuring food is handled and stored in a way that does not compromise the safety of food or people.

    General duties

    • Work as part of the Food Works team and support colleagues with their work where needed

    • Support and respect colleagues, volunteers and customers, and make everyone feel welcome and valued.

    • Be an ambassador for Food Works, our mission and our values.
