Next week’s patron boxes are going to be extra special. We’re thrilled to share the first courgettes of the season, freshly picked from our very own farm! These beauties were originally planted by the amazing corporate volunteers from the Waterman Group, and have been lovingly nurtured ever since by our fantastic team of volunteers.

Did you know there are many different varieties of courgette grown around the world? From classic green to yellow, striped, and even round courgettes. They’re not only delicious but incredibly versatile. We grow our courgettes alongside French beans and parsley, which make great companions in the garden and help each other naturally thrive. They grow fast, which is why they’re one of the stars of our Grow a Row scheme.

Each year our chefs get wonderfully creative with the generous courgette donations we receive. But honestly, you can’t beat the simple things. Courgettes lightly fried with garlic and olive oil? Perfection.
For those with a sweet tooth, you could rustle up a lemon and courgette cake. Yummy.
Here are a couple of recipes to try out…
