Rotherham Minster’s Social Supermarket marked its 5th birthday at the start of November with a lively celebration that brought more than 150 people together. The event highlighted how much the project has grown since opening its doors. Offering not only affordable food to referred members, but also activities, skills sessions and a welcoming community to belong to.
As well as celebrating the milestone, the Minster also officially launched our Just Meals, which have already become incredibly popular. Members on tight budgets say the meals are a huge help, offering good-quality food at low cost and supporting people through rising living costs.
For Food Works, the launch marks another step in expanding access to nutritious, affordable meals across Rotherham. Partner hubs like Rotherham Minster play a vital role in making sure Just Meals reach the people who benefit most, helping us reduce food waste, strengthen community resilience and provide reliable support.
Demand for Just Meals continues to grow, and every new partner hub allows us to reach more communities, support more families and build strong local networks around food, wellbeing and dignity.
