Four ways with French Toast

Published by Food Works on

This week we intercepted an absurd amount of surplus bread, and we thought it was a great opportunity to share one of the ways you can use up extra bread at home. Do you often find that you can’t get through the whole loaf before it goes a little stale? We’ve got you covered!

At Food Works, we love to encourage each other to be creative with food. Understanding how to exchange different ingredients you see in recipes for what you find in your fridge is key to reducing food waste at home. French toast is one of our favourites for this. Warm, sweet and soft with a crisp and buttery exterior, it marries well with a wide variety of preserves, sauces and fruits.

We gathered some early festive inspiration for our four french toast flavours, but the world (or the kitchen) really is your oyster! We’d love to hear creative ideas you have for new flavour combinations and substitutions. Find us on social media @thefoodworksshf and join our discussions to re-purpose your surplus.
